SavyTails was built by a groomer who wanted better for herself and all pet-stylist in the craft, and a veteran who wanted to help change an industry. Here’s who you’re trusting with your dog and community.
Savannah Lynn
Savannah started as a dog groomer in Charlotte NC in 2012 — but SavyTails wasn’t born from ambition. It was born from exhaustion with the way the industry treats the people who love it most.
Her goal was simple: create a grooming business where she — and eventually other groomers — could have the freedom to grow, earn a real living, and actually love what they do again.
For Savannah, Fear Free certification isn’t a badge on a wall. It’s a commitment to every dog she touches. It gave her a new awareness of how a dog’s emotions can shift during grooming — and the tools to support them through it rather than push past it. Every dog deserves to be handled with gentleness and respect. That’s non-negotiable.
At home, Savannah and Chad share their lives with three rescue dogs: James, a 3-year-old Ca de Bou Mastiff, Rooh, an 8-year-old Nordic Bear Dog, and Athena, a 3-year-old Belgian Malinois. If that sounds like a full house — it is.
Chad Currie
Chad served as a Combat Engineer in the United States Marine Corps during the GWOT era. The Corps instilled in him something that doesn’t translate easily to a résumé: an obsession with getting the details right, and a drive to solve the problems most people walk past.
At SavyTails, Chad runs the side of the business that keeps everything moving — administration, logistics, and the property manager relationships that make the whole model work. He’s the reason the paperwork is done before you ask for it.
But what brought him to this industry wasn’t a business plan. It was frustration. Chad watched dog groomers in Charlotte NC repeatedly get mistreated by owners — and decided he wanted to be part of forcing a change. SavyTails is built on the belief that groomers deserve better. That conviction doesn’t come from a business school. It comes from a guy who has seen what it looks like when leadership fails the people depending on it.
At home, Chad’s dog is Athena — a 3-year-old Belgian Malinois who absolutely runs the house. He and James have bonded over throwing balls and toys, while Rooh insists on ear scratches.
